50 Years (2013)

Prescription drug paraphernalia, perspex letters, MDF, LED lighting.

Created to celebrate the 50th birthday of my wife, Jane who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis.

The accompanying documentation lists the 1800+ drugs and self administered treatments she had each month to keep her alive.

This piece is currently on loan to the CF unit at Ward 26 of Birmingham Heartlands hospital and is seen here again after installation with (from left), myself, Dr Ed Nash,(consultant) and Elaine Chapman (Ward Manager).

On 8th May 2014, I was invited to display the piece centre stage at the 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. See right for photo of soprano Natalie Coyle performing in front of it (screen shot) and here for more photos.

This is the first of 3 pieces I've created about CF between 2013 and 2015.
