The concept of The Tree of Life has been used in science, religion and mythology, and alludes to the interconnection and cyclic nature of all things on the planet.
It has often been said that trees are the lungs of the world providing oxygen for us all. For those with Cystic Fibrosis getting a good lung function can be a daily struggle.
This tree features a selection of flowers, fruit and seeds all created from the from some of the drugs and devices which keep people with CF alive and well.
The aim of the piece is to convey renewal, life and hope to those with CF as well to create something of beauty from the drudgery of daily treatment regimes.
This is one of 3 works created about CF by me between 2013 and 2015.
