‘Jeanetics’ takes the form of 4 columns of horizontal bars in the style of a readout from a DNA profile or fingerprint from which we can all be identified as individuals.

We do of course inherit much of our make up from our parents including looks, traits and in some cases genetic conditions.

‘Jeanetics’ is a tribute to my wife’s late mother, Jean, who naturally handed down some of her genes to my wife.

In her struggle to do what was best for her daughter she also handed down a huge degree of strength, determination, resilience and good humour.

These un-inherited traits along with other idiosyncracies are not genetics, but ‘Jeanetics’ and for them I am very grateful.

When illuminated it also bring to mind a vast skyscraper at night - completely at odds with the tiny scale of proteins forming a gene, a  part of a DNA molecule - the minute sections of which give us our physical make up
